Xbox 360 Freezing

Last night, I was playing Halo 2 (as usual) on my Xbox 360. After hour two, my friends and I were playing Slayer on Backwash and my box froze. My controller was still vibrating from someone hitting me, and the last frame was still on the screen. The controller continued to vibrate until I power cycled the Xbox.

This is the second time this has happened to me, and I’ve checked…both the unit and the power supply were cool. If I remember correctly, the last time it happened, it was on Backwash too. That seems to be the only map that we (Xbox 360′ers) have problems on. Regular gameplay is very choppy when playing in this map. Maybe some software update will fix it?

  1. Ah, that kinda sucks that its freezing like that. However, if its only one map, then bungie’ll probably remove it from live play or something as a quick fix.

  2. Yeah, it’s strange..Backwash is the only map that behaves that way. Everyone I’ve talked to with a 360 says the same thing.

  3. My XBox does nto experience these problems… ever. However, I have noticed that from time to time when I am playing, the map realyl doesnt matter, that my controller will suddenly jump out of my hands and my screen will go blue. I am not sure if this is a problem with the original XBox or if this is a direct prodct of my crazy running by and getting caught up in the cords. Hmmm, maybe M$ can do something about this by removing all the crappy levels and gametypes and cheaters??? Worth a try…

Dear bungie.. Get your crap together and head my needs.

  4. Hahaha. Yeah, my Xbox 1 didn’t lock up either. And, the Xbox 360 is still well worth it with the wireless controller, the sleek look, the awesome HD graphics, etc. I’m sure Bungie will get it together and release an update…it does only seem to affect us Xbox 360ers on Backwash.

  5. Hey, jb, I have the stuttering Backwash and fog overlay problems too, but never the freezing. It sounds like you will eventually have to call for support or that there is a problem with your emulator. Hopefully there will be a patch for the issues (and one for the communicator audio in Halo).
